La Piazetta

There are Italian restaurants, and then there is La Piazzetta, producing fantastic meals for the good people of Horsham as if they were freshly cooked in a kitchen at the heart of Tuscany or Sicily.

Our family run restaurant, is located in a fine Tudor building in the heart of Horsham, West Sussex. In the kitchen, our authentic Italian Chef, Daniele Patane from Catania Sicily and his team aim to combine Italian ingredients that are fresh and in season, along with the finest local produce to create hearty, tasty and succulent dishes.

Whatever your choice of food, be it pizza, pasta, carne or seafood (both delivered fresh daily by local suppliers), add a glass of fine Italian or new world wine. We can match it to your meal, from the likes of Massi and Carlo Zenegaglia, or pick an award-winning Malbec, Chilean Sauvignon Blanc, or California Zinfandel.

Our combinations guarantee an indulgent meal, be it a family trip out, business lunch, special occasion, or just a relaxed part of your weekend.

From a light lunch to a full three course meal, we offer daily and weekend specials, and our waiting staff will be delighted to advise on the best selections or combinations on the day.

We are a restaurant driven by passion, both about our food, and sharing it with our customers.

MEET OUR CHEF

Daniele Patane

Daniele was born in Catania on the Italian island of Sicily. His home town is famous for its amazing and boisterous fish market, and the many seafood restaurants cooking only the finest local produce along the sea front and in the old town’s narrow streets.

Growing up in shadow of Mount Etna, surrounded by beautiful beaches and a volcanic countryside perfect for growing tomatoes, artichokes, asparagus and mushrooms, Daniele started cooking in his mama’s kitchen at an early and tender age. There he learned to appreciate the fine traditions of Italian cooking and respect for ingredients, using the finest olive oils and wines.

This passion took him to a local cooking school in Catania, where he achieved a chef’s diploma. Setting sail for England to further his career, Daniele has worked in his way up the ranks in different restaurants across the south.

He joined La Piazzetta Horsham, during the summer of 2016, aiming to bring the traditions of Sicily and modern Italian food to local diners. In that short time, he has run the kitchen team with same spirit and dedication of any Italian cook.

Daniele is also very romantic with the ladies, and can be seen and heard, taking out Harley Davidson motorcycle when not running the kitchen. His main ambition is to make La Piazetta the number one restaurant in west Sussex by sharing his love of Italian food with customers.
